What is Mindful365?

Mindful365 is a new program, distributed through both iOS/Android, that helps boost your spirit one day at a time. It provides you with a daily practice (i.e. a short piece of content) to focus on. This can be a question to ask, an idea to contemplate, an emotion to focus on or let go of or an action to take.  Basically it allows you to do one small thing each day to know more about yourself.  It focuses on all key areas of life, health, family, career, finances, relationships, friendships, Higher Purpose and happiness.

How does it work?

Once you have signed up via the iTunes/Play store for the app, you will receive a practice every morning at the time you choose. Pretty simple!
You can then also take notes on any insights or observations that show up for you.
You can set a reminder as well, so that later on in the day, we will let you know its time to remember the day’s practice.

What do I get on a daily basis?

First thing in the morning, you will receive a few paragraphs of content with a particular suggestion to be mindful for that day. It’s short and powerful. Try not to skip any day as there is an order to how we send the content and we don’t want you to miss anything important.

What am I supposed to do daily?

Your role is to be committed to reading the content and letting it stay with you throughout the day. We encourage you to take notes and keep track of what comes up for you. And set the reminder function so you can choose when to receive the practice again during the day, when things get busy!

Who is Mindful365 for? What kinds of people get it?

Mindful365 is for anyone that is committed to live consciously, to do some inner work and to think differently about life and themselves. The content is simple and yet profound. It will be of great benefit for people of all ages, backgrounds and levels of interest in personal growth. Whether you are a single mother, a CEO, a dedicated spiritual raving fan, a student or an entrepreneur, this content will be helpful.

Where does the content come from?

The content is all original and created in-house. The content comes from decades of research in the fields of personal development and the spiritual path.

Is this based on religion?

No, this is not based on any specific religion or religious principles. It does not in any way conflict with any religious teachings either, as the content is based on universal principles and personal growth.

Is this a Buddhist app?

Mindfulness is often associated with Buddhism and meditation. Mindful365 is not based on any specific Buddhist teachings however. The principles of love, compassion, patience, meditation etc. are certainly aligned with what our content is about.

How much does the app cost?

The app is priced at $7.99. This covers all the research and development that goes into delivering the best content we can find. Its about 2 cents a day to give you an idea. We do hope you see this as a valuable investment.

I want to gift Mindful365 to someone. How do I do that?

If you want to gift them the app on the iTunes store – the same way you would gift someone a movie or a song.  Click on the arrow next to ‘Buy’ in the App store and click on ‘Gift this App’ and follow the instructions.

Getting Started

How does the Reminder function work?

On the app, go to the Settings menu, the symbol that looks like a circle with jagged edges. There, you will see Receive daily Reminders- slide it to ON. Below that, choose whatever time you want the Reminder to be for. Your phone will send you a message to help you be mindful again, in the midst of your distractions.

Why are there two reminders?

We allow you to choose the times you want to receive the app, both in the morning at a suitable time (not everyone wakes up at the same time!) and later on in the day, when distractions are high!

How do I use the alarm?

The alarm is the same as the Reminder function. (See question and answer above to set this up.) To change the reminder time, go to settings and choose the two reminder times for when you will receive a Mindful reminder of the days practice.

How can I receive a daily email version?

If you have installed the app, on the Settings menu, the symbol that looks like a circle with jagged edges, you will see a choice to Receive practice by email. Slide this to ON. You will then be receiving the same content as you get on the app, also via email, so as to be sure you are not missing it.

How does the Notes function work?

On the app, at the top of each practice, you will see a button saying Notes. Click on this and your regular keyboard will appear. You can sync your notes with our servers and also download them later if you need them. These are private of course, but we are not responsible for their safe keeping, if anything were to happen.

Why do you say I should take notes on the daily practice?

We encourage you to take notes to keep a record of your journey to mindfulness. It’s helpful to write what is coming up as you contemplate the day’s practice. Just a few ideas and thoughts allow you to perhaps see things differently. It helps your commitment level stay high.

For those of you working on the practice primarily via email, we encourage you to get a dedicated journal.

Will the Notes I write be private?

Yes. Your Notes are private.

How does the Pause Practice function work?

We realize that sometimes you go on holiday or want a long weekend, or a break from technology and thought it might be useful to be able to temporarily pause the Mindful practices for a few days. On the Settings menu, the symbol that looks like a circle with the jagged edges, slide the Pause all Practices to OFF. Be sure to go back and slide it to ON again when you return.

How can I share Mindful365 with my friends?

It’s a great idea to start Mindful365 at the same time as your friends so that you will all be on the same page and receiving the same great content daily. This allows you to share and discuss any insights or challenges you might be facing together. We have found that people always prefer doing this sort of journey with someone else.

The best way to share this, is to email/phone/text them and let them know to download the app on the same day as you at www.mindful365.com

Company Info

How did you come up with the Mindful365 idea?

While sitting in a retreat, Ariane heard one of her teachers say, “Do you have any idea how different your life would be if you could only be mindful 5 minutes a day?” And that’s how the idea was born.

There are a lot of personal growth tools/ books/ CD’s/ seminars out there, and it can get pretty overwhelming when you want to do some work on yourself.  We wanted to create something that we would use – it would be something that we could spend a few minutes each day, looking at our ‘stuff’. Either way, it would allow us to make progress bit by bit.  We want to give you an alternative to reading a book that tells you to change everything about your life, or paying $1000 for a 4 day seminar that might be amazing and also overwhelming, so you forget it all 3 days afterwards.

In the midst of living in a major city (NYC and Cape Town for us), being bombarded by distractions and ways life pulls you off center, we wanted a way to focus the mind on something specific and conscious during each day. Yoga, meditation etc are great, but we wanted something to help really look deeply at our patterns, beliefs, ideas about life, ourselves, money, love, work etc in order to eventually live free from the mind’s limitations and from suffering.

Who is behind Mindful365? idea?

We are a small team, starting with Ariane and Alfie who wanted to create something that made a difference and would help them boost their spirits! We of course have the help of great developers, designers and friends. See the team info for more details.
